Lead Exploration Manager – Field Operations

About the role

The Lead – Exploration will coordinate safe and efficient field exploration programmes for a leading global gold mining company operating across Tanzania. This role provides comprehensive operational and logistical support, overseeing daily planning, team supervision, data integrity, and regulatory compliance while staying within budget and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute field programmes, allocate tasks, and manage rosters, travel and camp operations.
• Supervise and train staff in sampling, QA/QC, and core processing; ensure proper vehicle and equipment use.
• Oversee drilling activities, access planning, sample dispatch and data logging; ensure environmental compliance and site rehabilitation.
• Manage logistics, equipment, inventory and procurement; maintain accurate documentation and emergency readiness.
• Monitor budgets and costs, identify efficiencies and provide operational and financial reporting.
• Promote a proactive safety culture by implementing protocols, critical controls, SOPs and leading daily pre‑starts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain, Material Management or Logistics (or equivalent technical qualification).
• Minimum seven years of operational experience in the exploration industry.
• Strong understanding of resources, drilling, sampling, QA/QC, safety and environmental management systems.
• Proven leadership, communication and cultural awareness skills.
• Computer literate and medically fit for remote work with required vaccinations.
