FMCG Sales Specialist – Mbeya

About the role

The FMCG Sales Specialist for Mbeya will drive sales growth and expand market coverage across the Southern Highlands. Reporting to the regional sales manager, the role focuses on achieving monthly, quarterly and annual targets while building strong relationships with customers and distributors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales plans to meet targets in Mbeya and surrounding territories.
• Identify, acquire and nurture new customers, distributors, wholesalers and key accounts.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor product availability, gather market intelligence and resolve customer issues.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends and market dynamics, providing feedback to management.
• Manage order processing, stock levels and delivery coordination to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare accurate sales and market reports for senior management.
• Support promotional campaigns, product launches and merchandising activities.
• Collaborate with distributors and internal teams to improve distribution efficiency and customer service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–3 years proven experience in FMCG sales, preferably with a distributor or consumer‑goods manufacturer.
• Strong knowledge of the Mbeya market and established customer relationships is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve or exceed sales targets.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite.
• Excellent negotiation, customer relationship management and business development capabilities.
• Understanding of territory management, route‑to‑market and distribution concepts.
