Agribusiness Relationship Manager – Fishing & Aquaculture

About the role

The Relationship Manager – Agribusiness (Fishing & Aquaculture) will develop and grow Equity Bank Tanzania’s commercial portfolio within the fisheries, cage‑fishing and aquaculture value chains. The role combines relationship management, technical advisory and credit underwriting to support fish farmers, hatcheries, processors and related enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic relationships with fish farmers, cage‑farming enterprises, hatcheries, cooperatives, aggregators, processors and traders.
• Identify, originate, structure and monitor financing opportunities across the aquaculture and fisheries ecosystem.
• Provide technical guidance on production cycles, stocking densities, feed management, fish health and water‑quality monitoring.
• Conduct site visits, business reviews and value‑chain assessments to understand cash‑flows and financing needs.
• Coordinate with internal credit, risk and operations teams to ensure compliance and manage portfolio risk.
• Promote deposit mobilisation, digital payments and other banking products among value‑chain actors.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of cage‑aquaculture and fisheries value chains, including production models, market dynamics and associated risks.
• Experience in credit assessment, loan structuring and portfolio monitoring within an agribusiness or banking context.
