Advocate – Litigation & Corporate Law (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

AfriCorp Attorneys is seeking a qualified Advocate to join its Dar es Salaam office. The successful candidate will represent corporate and individual clients in court and before regulatory bodies, handling both contentious and non‑contentious matters across Tanzanian and cross‑border law.

Key responsibilities

• Represent clients in hearings, negotiations and regulatory proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, contracts, legal opinions and other court documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies in collaboration with senior lawyers.
• Advise clients on corporate, commercial and cross‑border legal issues.
• Support business development activities and share knowledge within the firm.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, case law and industry developments.

Required profile

• LL.B or equivalent law degree and admission to practice law in Tanzania.
• Significant experience in litigation, dispute resolution and client representation before courts or regulatory authorities.
• Strong analytical, drafting and advocacy skills.
• High professional integrity, sound judgment and commitment to confidentiality.
• Fluency in English and Swahili, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal research tools.
• Competence in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
