Accounts Clerk – EU Delegation Tanzania

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Dar es Salaam seeks an Accounts Clerk to support the Administration Section. The role involves managing the Delegation’s financial transactions, maintaining accounts, and preparing routine financial reports in line with EU regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify and register incoming invoices and payment requests in the SUMMA financial system.
• Execute payments to local bank accounts, monitor outstanding transactions and ensure timely processing.
• Maintain contractor and staff financial data, including legal entity details and bank accounts.
• Encode budget commitments, adjustments and de‑commitments in the budget forecast and mission management software.
• Manage petty cash accounts and support the preparation of annual budget estimates.

Required profile

• Experience in financial administration or accounting, preferably within an international or diplomatic environment.
• Good knowledge of EU financial regulations and procurement procedures.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Head of Administration Section and collaborate with a team of 13 staff members.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the SUMMA financial management system.
