M-Pesa Payment Products Specialist

About the role

The M-Pesa Payment Products Specialist will support the delivery of strategic payment collection projects in the transportation sector. Working under the guidance of the Manager, the specialist ensures that project tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, governance, and acceptance criteria aligned with business goals.
• Contribute to detailed project plans, resource tracking, and budget monitoring.
• Support communication between M-Pesa, clients, and partners, ensuring updates and documentation are shared.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth execution of assigned tasks.
• Monitor project activities, escalate risks or issues, and propose improvements.
• Ensure deliverables meet defined standards and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, IT, or a related field (master’s preferred).
• 2‑3 years of experience managing large‑scale public service or revenue collection projects.
• Experience in the transportation sector (air, water, rail, buses, etc.).
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and supporting contract administration.
• Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
• Familiarity with payment systems and automated fare collection.
• Analytical mindset with good problem‑solving and communication abilities.
