Fraud Investigation Manager

About the role

PalmPay is seeking a seasoned Fraud Investigation Manager to lead its anti‑fraud efforts in Tanzania. You will head a team of analysts and investigators, shaping policies and controls that protect our mobile money, payment, and merchant services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of fraud analysts and investigators.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve fraud risk policies, procedures, and controls across product lines.
• Monitor real‑time transaction activity and risk indicators to spot suspicious patterns.
• Conduct deep‑dive investigations into complex fraud schemes, including collusion, money laundering, account takeover, and other financial crimes.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Customer Support, Product, and IT/Security teams to remediate risks.
• Manage and report fraud metrics, trends, loss impact, and investigation outcomes to senior management.
• Interface with law enforcement, regulators, and industry bodies as required.
• Educate and train staff on emerging fraud risks and mitigation best practices.
• Ensure accurate documentation of cases, evidence, and investigations for audit and compliance.
• Contribute to business continuity planning and incident response related to fraud events.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fraud investigation, financial crime risk management, anti‑fraud operations, or a related compliance function.
• Experience preferably within fintech, banking, or mobile money services.
