About the role
The Business Development Manager will drive sustainable growth by turning market intelligence into actionable sales initiatives. This role combines strategic planning, retail oversight, and partnership management to expand the company’s footprint across Tanzania.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute business development and growth strategies, including market entry, branch setup, and product launches.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, government entities, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with marketing, brand, communication, and sales teams to maximise development opportunities.
- Lead retail strategy for all branches, overseeing asset financing, inventory logistics, and customer service.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research, secondary research, competitive analysis, and customer insight studies.
- Analyse sales data, create forecasts, and develop scenario‑based financial models.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and departmental reports for senior management.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff, fostering a positive work culture.
Required profile
- Proven experience in business development, market research, and retail management.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for partner and stakeholder management.
- Leadership experience in hiring, training, and managing cross‑functional teams.
