Radio Editor

About the role

The Radio Editor will lead the editorial direction of Pangani FM, a community radio station operated by UZIKWASA. Reporting to the Radio Station Manager, the role ensures that all programmes are high‑quality, engaging and aligned with community priorities and the organisation’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all content complies with Tanzanian broadcasting regulations, station policies and editorial standards.
• Provide editorial oversight and quality assurance for programmes, features, announcements and promotional material.
• Plan daily and weekly programming schedules to maximise audience reach and educational impact.
• Mentor and support radio staff and volunteers in content development, interviewing techniques and storytelling.
• Collaborate with UZIKWASA programme teams to design innovative, audience‑centred shows.
• Monitor broadcasts for technical sound quality, content relevance and audience engagement.
• Maintain the station’s music and audio archive and support the development of creative formats.
• Facilitate post‑production reviews, feedback processes and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Tanzanian professional with a strong commitment to community communication and social transformation.
• Creative, energetic and motivated with proven experience in radio editing or broadcasting.
• Excellent knowledge of Tanzanian broadcasting regulations and community‑media best practices.
• Ability to lead, mentor and build capacity among staff and volunteers.
