Programme Analyst – Maternal Health

About the role

The Programme Analyst, Maternal Health, will work from the UNFPA Tanzania Country Office in Dar es Salaam, reporting to the SRHR Coordinator. The role provides technical, programmatic and operational support to ensure effective design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of maternal health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support development, design and management of the maternal health portfolio, including strengthening midwifery programmes.
• Contribute to sectoral programme goals, objectives and implementation plans using results‑based planning approaches.
• Integrate maternal health interventions with family planning, adolescent SRH, GBV prevention and SRH/HIV services.
• Collaborate closely with the Ministry of Health, UN agencies, civil society, private sector, midwifery and nursing associations, and academic institutions.
• Assist with monitoring, evaluation and reporting on programme performance and outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience in programme management and implementation within maternal health or related SRHR fields.
• Knowledge of results‑based planning, monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively with government counterparts and multi‑sectoral partners.
