Deputy Representative Operations

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations supports the Head of Office in delivering UNICEF’s strategic objectives in Tanzania. This senior position provides operational leadership, risk‑informed analysis, and ensures effective management of core services across the country office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational results and drive change in line with UNICEF’s programme goals.
• Act as Officer in Charge during the Head of Office’s absence.
• Oversee budget preparation, financial management, and reporting.
• Manage facilities, administration, supply and logistics, and ICT services.
• Provide strategic advice and risk‑based solutions to programme and management teams.
• Coordinate with government and partners to support inclusive socioeconomic development.

Required profile

• Senior professional with extensive experience in international development operations.
• Proven leadership in managing multi‑disciplinary teams and complex budgets.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills in high‑pressure environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
