Chief of Party – Faith and Community Initiative (FCI)

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Chief of Party to lead the Faith and Community Initiative (FCI) in Tanzania. The role provides overall leadership for the country program, ensuring that vulnerable children receive health‑related services in line with the organization’s Christian values.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the FCI Tanzania program, delivering on country goals, objectives and results.
• Develop, adapt and implement the FCI Country Implementation Plan, translating global guidance into practical strategies, work plans, budgets and performance milestones.
• Contextualise the global FCI model to Tanzania’s health‑system architecture, disease burden, national policies and faith‑based service delivery environment.
• Ensure programme implementation complies with global FCI standards, donor requirements, World Vision policies, Tanzanian law and the 80/20 cost‑efficiency principle.
• Serve as the primary in‑country point of contact for the U.S. Embassy, GHSD team and other partners, maintaining strong relationships with ministries of health, finance, HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, RMNCAH, nutrition and supply‑chain actors.
• Represent FCI externally with embassies, government agencies, Christian health associations and other faith‑based networks.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in health programme management and leadership within a multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Deep understanding of Tanzania’s health‑system structure, policies and disease priorities.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage budgets and ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.
• Strong partnership and diplomatic skills to engage government, faith‑based organisations and international donors.
