Accounting Officer

About the role

The Accounting Officer will support the finance function of &Beyond by ensuring accurate financial recording, managing expenditures, and safeguarding company assets. This role is central to maintaining robust internal controls and delivering timely financial information to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Authorize and allocate business expenditures, questioning the need and ensuring value is reasonable and market‑aligned.
• Record daily transactions in the PanStrat system or manual ledgers.
• Prepare supplier payment requests and assist with payroll preparation and reconciliations.
• Interpret and analyse management accounts, providing feedback to the Regional Finance Manager.
• Resolve general ledger queries and balance‑sheet reconciliation issues.
• Maintain and update stock sheets, conduct month‑end stock takes, and perform regular audits of safari shop processes.
• Drive monthly finance meetings, compile budgets and quarterly forecasts, and support year‑end audit activities.
• Monitor internal controls, conduct spot checks, and report any suspected breaches or asset losses.
• Manage petty cash, mobile wallets, and company bank accounts, ensuring proper documentation.

• Professional scepticism applied daily, with a duty to investigate and report potential losses.
