Senior Regional Technical Officer – Community Engagement

About the role

The Senior Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement provides strategic technical leadership for HIV prevention, care, and treatment programmes across the region. The role ensures community‑based interventions are aligned with national guidelines, project SOPs and quality standards, while fostering strong coordination with government, health facilities and community stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve regional strategies to strengthen ART retention, treatment continuity and re‑engagement.
• Develop, adapt and roll out community engagement tools, SOPs and guidelines in line with national policies.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship and supervision to Community Health Workers, healthcare providers and case management teams.
• Monitor programme performance, lead multidisciplinary data reviews and drive corrective action plans.
• Strengthen referral systems, client tracing and coordination between health facilities and community cadres.
• Represent the project at high‑level technical forums, government meetings and stakeholder engagements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in community‑based HIV/TB/STI programmes and public health interventions.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and provide technical mentorship.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and inform strategic decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
