Reconciliation Officer

About the role

The Reconciliation Officer will ensure the accuracy and completeness of key financial accounts for NBC, Tanzania's longest‑standing bank. This role supports financial control, regulatory compliance and effective decision‑making by delivering timely reconciliations and resolving exceptions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliation of assigned suspense, digital, Nostro, settlement and other general‑ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Identify, investigate and resolve unmatched, aged or exception items by reviewing source documents, transaction reports and system postings.
• Engage branches, operations, finance and technology teams to obtain explanations and supporting evidence for outstanding items.
• Validate ownership, ageing and risk impact of reconciling items and escalate material or high‑risk exceptions to the supervisor or manager.
• Maintain reconciliation templates, evidence and exception trackers in the approved shared repository for audit and management reporting.

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
• Good communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders.
