MEAL Manager – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The MEAL Manager will lead Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning activities for Imagine Worldwide’s education programmes in Tanzania. Reporting to the Program Director, the role ensures data‑driven decision‑making, high‑quality evidence generation and effective knowledge sharing to support scaling and government partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the design, implementation and continuous improvement of MEAL tools, systems and methodologies.
• Support rigorous evidence generation to inform national scale‑up and institutionalisation within government systems.
• Analyse qualitative and quantitative data, generate lessons learned and apply findings to improve programme implementation.
• Build capacity of Imagine and partner staff in developing and using MEAL plans, tools and strategies.
• Supervise MEAL staff, enumerators and consultants, ensuring high‑quality data collection and adherence to quality benchmarks.
• Oversee surveys, assessments and impact evaluations, managing data quality and reporting.
• Collaborate with programme and communications teams to disseminate findings and impact stories.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading MEAL functions in education or development programmes.
• Strong background in working with government ministries, NGOs and local implementing partners.
• Demonstrated ability to translate data insights into actionable programme improvements.
• Excellent supervisory and capacity‑building skills.
