About the role

Watu Africa is seeking a Mid‑level Internal Auditor to join its headquarters in Tanzania. The role focuses on conducting audits, preparing reports, and recommending corrective actions to enhance governance, risk management, and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage audit engagements from planning through fieldwork, reporting, and follow‑up.
• Implement the board‑approved risk‑based audit plan to ensure operational effectiveness and financial reliability.
• Identify internal control issues and propose risk‑aversion measures and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Execute day‑to‑day audit activities in line with firm risk management practices.
• Collaborate with company staff, fostering respectful relationships across teams, customers, and partners.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional reporting to the Internal Audit Manager.
• Strong understanding of audit processes, risk assessment, and internal controls.
• Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and adapt communication styles.
