Hydropower Engineer

About the role

The Hydropower Engineer will support the Infrastructure Engineering Manager in planning, executing and overseeing hydropower construction projects. The role covers project scheduling, quality and safety management, supplier coordination and stakeholder communication across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing hydropower engineering projects, including planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of construction activities.
• Lead preparation and review of project schedules and monitor progress against annual, monthly and weekly plans.
• Organise and review project plans for new hydropower installations, ensuring alignment with approved schedules.
• Oversee on‑site engineering and construction work to guarantee compliance with quality, safety and civilised construction standards.
• Conduct inspections, evaluations and performance assessments of construction activities and supplier/contractor execution.
• Support communication with contractors, suppliers, consultants, government authorities and other stakeholders to resolve coordination issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in hydropower installation and construction management, including at least two full project cycles.
• At least 3 years in an engineering supervisory or manager role within a hydropower construction company.
• Intermediate Engineer title or higher; Level 1 Construction Engineer certification (Mechatronics specialty) preferred.
