Compliance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tanzanian Corporate Compliance Manager to lead regulatory risk management, statutory alignment, and commercial contract reviews for our operations in Dar es Salaam. The role sits at the intersection of business strategy and legal governance, integrating compliance controls into operational IT systems and representing the company before government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze local legislation, TCRA guidelines, and industry standards to develop and execute compliance management plans across business units.
• Embed automated compliance checkpoints into daily workflows, procurement cycles, and enterprise IT systems.
• Conduct high‑volume compliance reviews of commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and business plans, providing clear risk assessments.
• Serve as primary liaison with government authorities, external legal counsel, and regulatory inspectors; manage compliance incidents, audits, and crisis drills.
• Design and deliver mandatory compliance training for internal leaders and subcontractors; conduct periodic internal audits.

Required profile

• Tanzanian national with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Commercial Law, or Regulatory Governance.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience reviewing complex commercial contracts in a fast‑paced corporate environment.
• Proven experience managing official correspondence and audits with Tanzanian statutory bodies.
• Full fluency in English with professional legal writing skills.
• Basic proficiency in Chinese writing or experience in a multinational matrix organization is an advantage.
