Base Management Specialist

About the role

The Base Management Specialist will support and execute the company's base management strategy, aiming to maximise customer lifetime value and increase revenue per user. The role focuses on designing and running targeted campaigns, data‑driven offers and pricing initiatives that drive cross‑sell, up‑sell and reduce inactivity across the prepaid customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, launch and monitor end‑to‑end customer value management (CVM) campaigns that target incremental revenue, engagement and inactivity reduction.
• Produce and maintain regular base‑management reports, including IBRO, campaign ROI and inactivity dashboards.
• Analyse subscriber usage, segmentation and market insights to recommend proactive, location‑specific offers.
• Coordinate weekly BTL SMS communication calendars and ensure timely execution of all messages.
• Collaborate with regional teams to incorporate competitive movements and on‑ground insights into campaign design.
• Support initiatives that increase Mpesa penetration among the customer base.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in customer value management or related analytics programmes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Telecommunications or IT.
• Strong analytical mindset with solid business acumen.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to challenge the status‑quo and anticipate market dynamics.

Required skills

• SQL with experience in relational OLTP database models (OLAP knowledge a plus).
• Python programming.
• JavaScript coding environment.
