Agribusiness Relationship Manager – Fishing & Aquaculture

About the role

The Relationship Manager – Agribusiness Fishing & Aquaculture will lead the development and growth of Equity Bank Tanzania’s commercial portfolio within the fisheries, cage‑fishing and aquaculture value chains. The role combines relationship management, technical advisory and credit underwriting to support fish farmers, hatcheries, processors and other ecosystem actors in accessing finance and improving productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic relationships with fish farmers, cage‑farming enterprises, hatcheries, cooperatives, aggregators, processors, traders, feed and equipment suppliers, and off‑takers.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of quality aquaculture and fisheries customers through site visits, farm assessments and business reviews.
• Identify, originate, structure and monitor financing opportunities for cage construction, equipment, boats, cold‑storage, feed, fingerlings, working capital and other productive assets.
• Provide technical guidance on production cycles, stocking densities, feed management, fish health, water‑quality monitoring and biosecurity to improve survival rates and profitability.
• Conduct credit assessments, prepare proposals and ensure compliance with the bank’s credit, KYC, AML and environmental policies.
• Promote cross‑selling of loans, deposits, insurance, digital payments and other banking products to deepen customer relationships.
• Mobilise deposits and facilitate transaction banking solutions across the aquaculture value chain.
• Organise farmer sensitisation forums on financial literacy, responsible borrowing and business planning.
