About the role

The Sales Head will lead the sales function for a diversified portfolio of plastics, metals and general trading products across Tanzania. This senior position is responsible for shaping strategy, driving revenue growth and expanding market share in both urban and rural markets.

Key responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for all product lines.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company goals.
  • Lead, mentor and supervise the national sales team to ensure high performance and market coverage.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, distributors and channel partners.
  • Identify and manage public‑sector tenders, ensuring compliance with PPRA/e‑procurement systems.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to refine sales tactics.
  • Coordinate with production, logistics and marketing to align supply, pricing and promotions.
  • Train and support branch sales teams to strengthen brand positioning.
  • Drive collections, enforce credit discipline and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular sales performance reports.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

  • 8‑10 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership experience in East African industrial or manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven track record of revenue growth, market expansion and managing complex distribution networks.
  • Strong strategic mindset with ability to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Experience leading high‑performing teams and driving results across multiple product categories.
  • Familiarity with public‑sector procurement processes and tender management.
