Relationship Manager - Fisheries

About the role

The Relationship Manager – Fisheries will drive growth of NBC's fisheries portfolio by acquiring new clients, assessing credit applications, and structuring suitable financing solutions. The role combines business development, credit analysis, and portfolio monitoring within Tanzania's fisheries sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, acquire and onboard fisheries farmers, cooperatives and agribusiness enterprises as new clients.
• Assess loan applications, evaluating business viability, cash flow, collateral and sector‑specific risks.
• Structure financing solutions aligned with production cycles and recommend appropriate products such as working capital loans, asset finance and insurance‑backed credit.
• Disburse approved facilities accurately and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
• Monitor financed projects, detect early warning signs of distress and propose remedial actions.
• Maintain adherence to credit policies, regulatory requirements and fisheries sector standards.
• Provide financial literacy training, advisory support on best fisheries practices and facilitate linkages with technical service providers.
• Prepare periodic performance reports for the fisheries loan portfolio.

Required profile

• Experience in banking, credit assessment or financial services, preferably with exposure to agriculture or fisheries.
• Strong understanding of Tanzania’s fisheries value chain, market trends and sector risks.
• Excellent relationship‑building and client advisory skills.
• Ability to analyze financial statements, cash flows and collateral adequacy.
