Projects and Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

East African Breweries PLC is seeking a Projects and Infrastructure Engineer to lead the planning, coordination and execution of capital‑expenditure projects across its three regional sites. The role ensures safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of projects that support operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a 3‑year Capex rolling plan in partnership with business stakeholders.
• Lead the full project lifecycle – from concept, design and costing to commissioning and handover.
• Manage cross‑functional teams and external vendors to deliver projects on schedule, within scope and budget.
• Oversee performance of project teams, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and contractors.
• Act as the gate‑keeper for Capex governance, ensuring compliance with company rules and regulations.
• Provide advisory input on alternative solutions for complex projects and benchmark engineering standards.
• Embed a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to EHS standards and local regulations.
• Align infrastructure solutions with engineering standards, GMP (where applicable) and sustainability targets.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and audit trails for all infrastructure works.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, SHEQ, Procurement, Finance and Corporate Affairs teams.
• Support regulatory engagement and approval processes for infrastructure projects.
• Drive value engineering and cost‑efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor performance of infrastructure systems and propose improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering capital‑expenditure projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder‑management skills across cross‑functional teams.
• Solid understanding of engineering standards, GMP requirements and sustainability objectives.
• Commitment to safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to produce and maintain detailed project documentation and audit trails.
